What you will be doing!
As a  Hardware Technician you will provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support both on-site and remotely for computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment. This role involves conducting site surveys to assess and document current site configurations and user requirements. The technician will analyze existing requirements and prepare specifications for hardware acquisitions, as well as create engineering plans and Technical Design Packages for site installations. Responsibilities also include developing hardware installation schedules, preparing drawings to document configuration changes at each site, and generating site installation and test reports. Additionally, the technician will configure computers, communications devices, and peripheral equipment, train site personnel on hardware usage, and build specialized interconnecting cables.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and test computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment.
  • Install and configure computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, teleconferencing equipment, and associated cabling.
  •  Maintain government and/or vendor-manufactured fiber optic modems, multiplexers, fiber optic/Ethernet cables, and telephone systems.
  • Update technical drawings using AutoCAD software as needed.

Experience and Education:
  • High school diploma or GED required, along with zero to two years of experience. AND 8570 Certification is needed, and Security+ certification is preferred. An AA or BS in a technical field may be accepted as a substitute for years of experience.
  • Proficient in installing, repairing, and troubleshooting computer hardware and peripherals. 
  • Well-versed in installing Windows, software applications, antivirus, and patches. 
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics. 
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access). 
  • Capable of managing time and priorities effectively while working efficiently with minimal supervision. 
  • Comfortable working with end users remotely
  • Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Windows 7 and 10. 
  • Familiarity with Active Directory security and policies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent communication skills for interactions with team members and support staff. 
  • Must be able to drive a company vehicle and lift up to 50 lbs. 
  • Availability to work an 8-hour shift between 6 AM and 6 PM, as determined by management.
  • An active TS/SCI security clearance with an appropriate polygraph is required for this role
