What You Will Do:
Join Independent Software as a System Administrator, where you will provide critical support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems that underpin mission success. As a System Administrator at Independent Software, you will be responsible for managing and supporting IT system infrastructure and day-to-day operations. You will provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) through Tier 3 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution. Your work will include monitoring system performance, supporting account management, applying security patches, and maintaining system compliance. You will configure and manage UNIX, Linux, and Windows operating systems, troubleshoot issues, and implement operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance. You will also communicate effectively with agency management and internal customers to ensure status updates and problem resolution.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems
- Manage daily configuration and operation of IT systems
- Deliver Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) support for problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution
- Assist users with accessing and using IT systems
- Perform account management tasks such as establishing, modifying, disabling, and removing accounts
- Manage configuration, implementation, and sustainment of compliance with applicable system security controls
- Conduct periodic vulnerability scans of systems
- Apply IAVA security patches and ensure patch status is recorded in systems of record
- Support escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers
- Optimize system operations and resource utilization through capacity analysis and planning
- Strong experience supporting client/server, storage, network, and mobile device environments
- Proficient with UNIX, Linux, and Windows operating systems configuration and management
- Experience with Tier 1 through Tier 3 technical support and problem resolution
- Knowledge of IT system security controls and vulnerability scanning
- Ability to communicate clearly with management and users regarding technical issues and status updates
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required; four (4) years of additional System Administrator experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree
- Five (5) years of experience as a System Administrator supporting programs or contracts of similar scope and complexity is required
- Two (2) years of experience with Service Management (ITSM) is required
- Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level I certification requirements
- Computing Environment (CE) Certification required. The CE certification requirements can be fulfilled with either Microsoft OS, CentOS, or Red Hat OS CE certifications
- Must possess an active TS/SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role
