As a Technical Writer Level 2 you will support system engineers, software developers, and program teams by creating, editing, and maintaining technical documentation across all stages of the software and system lifecycle.
You will play a key role in developing user guides, installation manuals, system operation procedures, and other key documents that support the implementation, configuration, and use of mission-critical technologies. Your ability to communicate complex technical information in a clear and accessible manner will directly contribute to successful deployment and user adoption.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain user guides, manuals, operations documentation, and technical publications
- Write and edit technical documentation for hardware and software, including installation, configuration, and operational use
- Assist in documentation for software code, implementation guides, and end-user materials
- Organize and maintain an internal technical documentation library
- Coordinate document layout and design, ensuring consistent formatting and professional presentation
- Work closely with engineers, developers, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather and clarify technical content
- Use tools like Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and other word processing and visual tools to create documentation
- Research highly technical subject matter and express it clearly for technical and non-technical audiences
- Support the development of reports, briefings, training manuals, and acquisition documentation
- Interpret technical drawings and operational procedures to synthesize accurate technical materials
- Ensure documentation meets DoD standards and supports the needs of a wide range of users
- Demonstrated ability to create, update, and manage content using SharePoint, Confluence, or similar collaboration and documentation platforms.
- Provide expert-level oversight and guidance in technical writing and editing across all phases of acquisition and technical documentation for the program, project, or contract.
- Independently develop and maintain highly complex system, programming, operations, and procedural documentation.
- Serve as a project lead for initiatives involving complex or large-scale documentation efforts and coordinate specialized documentation services as needed.
- Ability to research and translate technical concepts into clear, comprehensive written materials
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and other documentation tools
- Strong attention to detail and grammar
- Understanding of system/software development lifecycle processes
- Ability to coordinate document creation across engineering and development teams
- Experience writing for a variety of audiences, including technical users, end-users, and stakeholders
- A minimum of eight (8) years of experience as a Technical Writer supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. A Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related discipline from an accredited college or university is also required.
- A Master’s degree in a technical or business-related discipline may be substituted for two (2) years of experience, reducing the total experience requirement to six (6) years. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an additional four (4) years of relevant Technical Writing experience may be substituted.
- Must possess an active TS/SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role
