What You Will Do:
As a Storage Administrator, Level 3, you will play a critical role in managing, securing, and maintaining enterprise-grade storage systems. You will lead the configuration and troubleshooting of NetApp and Commvault environments, contribute to documentation and process improvement, and support the infrastructure through mentorship and collaboration. This position involves proactive performance monitoring, security compliance, and participating in an on-call rotation to support 24/7 operations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot database and system backups
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to NetApp and Commvault storage systems
- Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including SOPs and best practices
- Mentor and train junior and mid-level support engineers
- Ensure all storage environments meet security compliance standards
- Monitor and report on key metrics to maintain service health and availability
- Stay current on NetApp technologies and certifications
- Collaborate with engineering, security, and other cross-functional teams
- Participate in the 24/7 on-call support rotation for critical storage issues
- Proven experience troubleshooting and resolving complex storage performance issues
- Strong knowledge of both Windows and UNIX operating systems
- Ability to manage enterprise storage systems with a focus on availability and security
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative technical team
- Proficiency in NAS protocols (NFS, SMB)
- Familiarity with NetApp ONTAP and related technologies such as Snapshot, SnapVault, SnapMirror, FlexVol, FlexClone, FabricPool, and Object Storage
- Experience with NetApp StorageGRID
- Understanding of virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware) and storage integration
- Knowledge of automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python)
- Infrastructure and application design awareness for recommending storage solutions
- Track record of designing and managing enterprise storage environments
Candidates must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED and 20+ years of relevant technical experience
OR - Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 15+ years of relevant IT experience
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher is required.
- NetApp ONTAP certifications (e.g., NCDA, NCIE) (Preferred)
- VMware, Python, or storage automation-related certifications (Preferred)
- Must possess an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance to be considered for this role.
