Subject Matter Expert, Level 5

System Engineering - Fort Meade, MD - Full Time

What You Will Do:

As a Subject Matter Expert at Independent Software, you will develop and manage requirements for complex IT systems throughout the project lifecycle. You will support system analysis and evaluation, provide recommendations for improvements and optimization, and serve as a key liaison between mission end users and technical teams. Your expertise will cover information systems architecture, networking, telecommunications, software development methodologies, and modeling and simulation. Key Responsibilities: 
  • Serve as the bridge between mission end users and system architects, engineers, and developers
  • Support the development, review, and analysis of mission concepts of operations (CONOPs), requirements, scenarios, and use cases that reflect end-user needs
  • Assist in articulating mission expectations to guide test planning and operational evaluation
  • Support information management transformation initiatives
  • Maintain awareness of operational requirements and ensure they are preserved throughout programmatic and acquisition processes
  • Communicate complex ideas effectively to all levels of management using clear articulation and visual aids such as whiteboarding
  • Provide lifecycle sustainment support for systems and solutions
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Extensive knowledge in one or more of the following specialties: information systems architecture, networking, telecommunications, automation, communications protocols, risk management, software development methodologies, and modeling and simulation
  • Experience with CITRIX, VMWare, XenApp, CENTRIFY, SCCM, HPE, CentOS/RedHat
  • Management (PAM) Services, and MS Exchange is required
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
Education and Experience:
  • Associate’s degree with at least fifteen (15) years of relevant experience, or
  • Bachelor’s degree with at least ten (10) years of relevant experience
Certifications: 
  • Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification requirements

Clearance Requirement:
  • Must possess an active TS/SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role
