Signal Processing Engineering - Annapolis Junction, MD - Full Time

What You Will Do:

As a Signals Processing Engineer, Level 3, you will design, develop, and implement advanced digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms across both software and hardware platforms, including Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs). You will serve as a technical expert supporting the analysis and processing of signals of interest, working independently and in collaboration with subject matter experts to deliver innovative and effective processing solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement DSP algorithms in software and hardware, including FPGA-based solutions.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, independently designing and implementing software models using MATLAB or similar design tools to process signals of interest.
  • Provide clear and concise explanations of developed models and algorithms to enable effective use by other engineering team members.
  • Direct the implementation of sub-modules required to support signal processing solutions.
  • Develop and apply novel approaches leveraging Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) systems beyond their intended use.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to design and validate software models for signal processing applications.
  • Implement software modules necessary to support signal processing workflows.
  • Analyze outputs from models and modules to support downstream processing and follow-on development.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Expert knowledge of digital signal processing algorithms and techniques.
  • Strong experience developing DSP solutions in MATLAB or equivalent signal processing design environments.
  • Experience implementing signal processing algorithms in both software and FPGA hardware environments.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to engineers and non-engineers.
  • Proven ability to work independently and serve as a technical lead on advanced signal processing efforts.
Education and Experience:
  • Ten (10) years of experience as a DSP algorithm developer is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Five (5) additional years of relevant DSP experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
Clearance Requirement:
  • Must possess an active TS SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role
