As a Level 2 Platform Engineer, your skills in virtual desktop infrastructure and enterprise systems will make a direct impact. You’ll play a key role in supporting and enhancing our enhanced Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (eVDI) by working hands-on with Citrix, Windows, UNIX, and Linux systems.
In this role, you will develop and implement eVDI applications, provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support to end users, and ensure seamless integration of backend systems. You’ll collaborate with network engineers to optimize system performance, resolve complex technical issues, and contribute to the design and maintenance of resilient IT services across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:
Configure and maintain organization’s network diagrams and accreditations
Resolve complex network issues related to enhanced VDI (eVDI)
Implement, integrate, and maintain systems architecture for Citrix environments across Windows, UNIX, and Linux platforms
Collaborate with back-end developers and DBAs to integrate applications into the eVDI
Perform scripting, software installation, provisioning, and configuration
Prepare hardware and system designs for eVDI updates
Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support to Citrix end-users
Troubleshoot, repair, monitor, and test the eVDI environment
Optimize system operations and conduct system capacity analysis and planning
Conduct data captures to analyze network performance
Implement specific network solutions including load-balancing, VPNs, firewalls, and NAT
Collaborate with engineering teams to support system integration efforts
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Extensive knowledge of virtual desktop infrastructure technologies
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in complex networked environments
Experience with Citrix environments in both Windows and UNIX/Linux platforms
Proficient in software scripting and system provisioning
Ability to analyze and optimize system and network performance
Comfortable working in collaborative, cross-functional technical teams
Education and Experience:
Ten (10) years of experience as a Platform Engineer
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
An additional four (4) years of Platform Engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree, totaling 14 years of experience
At least 5 years of experience with Linux, Unix, and/or Shell programming
Minimum of 2 years of experience with Enterprise Hosting Platforms, Service Applications, or Enterprise Data Centers
Certifications:
DoD 8570 compliance with IAT Level I or higher is required
Clearance Requirement:
Must possess an active TS/SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role
