What You Will Do
As an Active Directory Systems Engineer, you will lead and support the design, implementation, and maintenance of a complex Active Directory infrastructure supporting enterprise-level operations. You'll work with Windows Server technologies, Azure AD, PowerShell, and other enterprise tools to maintain the integrity and performance of mission-critical systems. Your expertise will contribute to secure, scalable identity and access management solutions across government networks. Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and manage Active Directory infrastructure, including Azure AD, DNS, Group Policy, PKI, and Windows Servers (2008R2, 2012, 2016).
Engineer and architect complex enterprise-level identity solutions.
Analyze and manage complex domain structures, forest configurations, and group policy architectures.
Provide technical consultation and planning support for new and existing systems.
Coordinate project efforts across technical teams and oversee system engineering initiatives.
Utilize PowerShell scripting for automation and maintenance tasks.
Perform system analysis, design, documentation, and testing in accordance with engineering and customer requirements.
Maintain training tools and documentation; assist with updates and implementation.
Participate in on-call support and be available for short-notice operational needs.
Collaborate in high-stakes environments under minimal supervision.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Strong proficiency with:
Active Directory, Group Policy, Azure AD, and DNS
Microsoft Windows Server 2008R2, 2012, and 2016
Microsoft PowerShell scripting
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and creative problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments
Ability to plan, conduct, and oversee complex technical projects
Clear, professional communication and interpersonal skills
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED and 19 years of relevant experience OR
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 14 years of relevant experience
Preferred Experience:
Experience with Quest ARS, GPO Admin, Password Manager, and Microsoft FIM/MIM
Deep understanding of hybrid identity environments (on-prem + cloud
Certifications:
CompTIA Security+ CE (DoD 8570 IAT Level II compliant)
Clearance Requirement:
Must possess an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance to be considered for this role.
