Data Scientist, Level 2

Data Modeling and Analysis - Annapolis Junction, MD - Full Time

What You Will Do:

At Independent Software, as a Data Scientist Level 2, you will analyze complex datasets and develop data-driven solutions supporting mission-critical operations. Depending on the program, you may work with machine learning, artificial intelligence, predictive analytics, data visualization, workflow automation, or other advanced analytical techniques.

You will work with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to identify patterns, develop analytical solutions, and translate complex data into meaningful insights.

Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Analyze mission-specific data in support of financial tracking efforts
  • Research and identify sources and recipients of illicit funding
  • Analyze complex datasets to identify patterns, relationships, trends, and anomalies
  • Conduct independent research to support analytical findings
  • Correlate information from multiple data sources to develop meaningful conclusions
  • Apply data science and analytical techniques to complex mission problems
  • Develop analytical solutions and methods to improve research and analysis
  • Document methodologies, findings, and analytical conclusions
  • Communicate technical and analytical findings to mission stakeholders
  • Work independently to research and resolve complex analytical problems

Required Skills and Qualifications:
 
  • Experience performing data analysis, data science, or mission-focused analytical work
  • Experience researching and analyzing complex datasets
  • Ability to identify patterns, relationships, and relevant findings within data
  • Ability to independently research and investigate complex analytical questions
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Ability to clearly document and communicate analytical findings
  • Financial tracking methodology (FTM) experience is a plus
  • XKS and/or DX experience with fingerprint authoring is a plus
  • AI implementation experience is a plus

Education and Experience:

Candidates must meet one of the following:
 
  • Bachelor's degree with three (3) years of relevant experience; OR
  • Associate's degree with five (5) years of relevant experience
Degree should be in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Statistics, Machine Learning, Data Science, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.

Degrees in Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Physical Sciences, or other scientific disciplines with a strong computational, mathematics, or computer science background may also be considered.

Candidates with other degree disciplines may qualify if they have earned a Data Science certificate from an accredited college or university.

Relevant experience may include machine learning, data science, advanced analytics, statistical analysis, programming, data management, data mining, data modeling, artificial intelligence, or software engineering.


Clearance Requirement:
 
  • Must possess an active TS SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role
