As a Level 2 Technical Consultant,at Independent Software, you will provide unique technical expertise to support the assessment, planning, and implementation of IT systems. You will help shape top-level system requirements and develop high-level system architectures that integrate hardware, software, database, and telecommunications components. Key Responsibilities:
Guide assessment of IT system objectives and concept of operations
Identify and define top-level system requirements and architecture
Design and test a range of technical and software-based solutions
Conduct data modeling and analysis to validate and inform architecture decisions
Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues with actionable solutions
Provide technical consulting for software development, integration, testing, and monitoring
Collaborate on the development and maintenance of technical best practices and standards
Apply mission-specific knowledge such as mission islands, Trusted Thin Client, and enhanced VDI (e.g., remote GPU, memory scaling)
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Strong analytical and systems-thinking capabilities
Ability to model, test, and evaluate software and system architectures
Hands-on experience with troubleshooting performance issues in databases and enterprise systems
In-depth understanding of system integration and configuration best practices
Experience with modern IT infrastructure and virtualization environments
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university
Minimum ten (10) years of relevant experience as a Technical Consultant in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
Certifications:
Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification requirements
Clearance Requirement:
Must possess an active TS/SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role
