What You Will Do
As a Web Services Engineer, you will install, configure, and maintain secure and high-performing web servers and services in a mission-critical environment. You'll collaborate with development and infrastructure teams, ensure DISA compliance, and drive reliability and automation for web applications and hosting infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
Install and configure web server software (e.g., Apache, NGINX, IIS) and related tools.
Perform routine maintenance, patching, and upgrades to ensure optimal performance and security.
Monitor server health and troubleshoot issues to ensure uptime and SLA compliance.
Implement and maintain web server security measures, including SSL/TLS, firewall rules, and user access controls.
Manage data backup and recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.
Develop and maintain automation scripts for managing and deploying web environments.
Document configurations and procedures to support auditing and internal knowledge sharing.
Collaborate with development and IT teams for smooth deployment of web applications.
Provide user and developer support for web service-related issues via a ticketing system.
Ensure compliance with DISA standards, internal policies, and industry best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Strong experience with:
Web servers: Apache, NGINX, IIS
Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
Containerization: Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes
CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows
Monitoring tools and performance tuning methodologies
Scripting: Bash, Python, or PowerShell
Database systems: MySQL, PostgreSQL
Configuration management tools: Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
Networking and security protocols: DNS, SSL/TLS, HTTP/S, firewalls
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED and 19 years of relevant experience OR
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 14 years of relevant experience
Preferred Experience:
AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
Certifications:
CompTIA Security+ CE (DoD 8570 IAT Level II compliant)
Clearance Requirement:
Must possess an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance to be considered for this role.
