System Engineer, Level 3
What You Will Do:
As a Systems Engineer, you will support all phases of the systems engineering lifecycle, with a focus on system architecture design, integration, and documentation. You will work closely with a small, mission-focused team and regularly interact with users, customers, and cross-functional engineering teams to design, modify, and sustain complex systems. This role requires a strong technical foundation, adaptability, and a willingness to learn new technologies in support of mission objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support all phases of the systems engineering lifecycle, from requirements analysis and architecture design through integration, testing, and sustainment.
- Design and modify system architectures and produce required documentation and drawing packages.
- Integrate hardware and software components to ensure systems meet functional and performance requirements.
- Develop system diagrams, network drawings, and architecture documentation using Visio or similar tools.
- Work in both Windows and Linux environments to support system operations and integration efforts.
- Perform basic system administration tasks in support of development, test, and operational environments.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, users, and customers to support mission needs and system enhancements.
- Strong systems engineering experience, including the development of technical documentation and system artifacts.
- Hands-on experience with hardware and software integration.
- Experience working in both Windows and Linux operating environments.
- Proficiency with Visio or other diagramming and drawing applications.
- Basic system administration experience.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, mission-focused team environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and mission requirements.
- Familiarity with Cisco and Juniper networking devices.
- Experience or exposure to Ansible and scripting languages for automation and configuration management.
- Experience supporting mission-critical or operational environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in a qualified engineering field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus six (6) years of systems engineering experience; or
- High School Diploma or GED, plus ten (10) years of general systems engineering experience across any process area; or
- Master’s degree in a qualified engineering field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus four (4) years of systems engineering experience; or
- PhD in a qualified engineering field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus two (2) years of systems engineering experience.
Related disciplines include, but are not limited to: Chemistry, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, and Physics. Comparable or closely related degrees will be considered.
- Must possess an active TS SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role
