Threat Analyst
What You Will Do:
As a Threat Analyst at Independent Software, you will analyze and assess potential risks to missions, personnel, and facilities by leveraging data from multiple systems and information sources. You will serve as the first line of defense in identifying, evaluating, and documenting potential physical security threats in a fast-paced, high-demand environment. Your work will directly support mission assurance by providing timely, accurate, and actionable assessments that inform critical security decisions.
You’ll collaborate with security and intelligence teams to evaluate incidents, identify trends, and ensure that risk mitigation strategies align with operational priorities. This position is ideal for an analytical, detail-oriented professional who thrives on problem-solving and wants to make a measurable impact on national security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect, analyze, and evaluate data from multiple systems and intelligence sources to assess potential physical and operational threats.
- Conduct rapid and thorough assessments of security-related events or requests to identify potential risks to missions, facilities, or personnel.
- Produce detailed written reports that summarize assessment findings and provide clear recommendations.
- Prioritize and manage a high volume of assessment requests under time-sensitive conditions.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure comprehensive risk analysis and communication.
- Maintain awareness of emerging threats, trends, and analytical methodologies to enhance assessment accuracy and efficiency.
- Uphold strict data protection, privacy, and classification standards throughout all stages of analysis and reporting.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of analytical experience in research, critical thinking, or problem-solving roles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize complex findings clearly.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Self-motivated with a strong commitment to quality and accuracy in all deliverables.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Intelligence Studies, Security, Criminal Justice, Political Science, or a related analytical discipline;
OR equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience. - Minimum of 1–2 years of prior analytical work experience involving research, data analysis, or security risk assessment.
- Must possess an active TS/SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role
